Traffic Police Officers Arrested for Extorting Motorists in Embu

Four traffic police officers were apprehended  by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) in Embu County following numerous complaints of bribery from the public.

The traffic police officers, identified as IP Sammy Cherogony, CPL Maurice Mwakachora, PC Fozia Hallake, and PC Adan Mohamed Iman, all stationed at Kiritiri Police Station, were arrested at the Embu/Siakago Road junction.

They were subsequently taken to the EACC Integrity Centre Police Station for processing.

Currently, they are being held at Kilimani Police Station as they await further action.

The arrests highlight the ongoing efforts to combat corruption within law enforcement agencies and to restore public trust in the integrity of traffic policing.
