Two cops arrested over torture of senators wife during search of 20M missing cash

Police in Ruai have launched investigations into an incident where their colleagues tortured and injured estranged wife of Turkana Senator James Lomenen.

Reports indicate that five officers two whom have already been arrested got to the the of the residence victim, Trizar Theo Wariong in Ngundu area in search of Sh20 million allegedly stolen from Senator Lomenen.

The police are yet to establish why the case of the missing cash had not been reported anywhere and the source of the said money.

Trizar told the investigating officers that she was tortured and threatened during the six hour raid by the officers.

Giving her record of events to senior officers who visited the scene of crime, Trizar said she was picked from her house by the five officers who revealed to have been sent by the Turkana Senator to get the money from her.

She denied the claim but the officers forced their way into the house as they allegedly grabbed $15000 and Sh200,000 in a suitcase from her house as they demanded for more money.

The woman told the officers that after they failed to get the money they forced her into a waiting car and told she was being taken to Njathaini police station.

She told the investigating team that when they got to Kamulu, two officers alighted at the shopping centre as two others including a woman boarded the car.

The car was then driven to Ruai then branched to Mwiki near the police station but it didn’t stop.

She further stated that after they continued to ask for more money which they failed to get, they took her back to her residence yesterday evening before issuing threats to her.

Trizar then went to Kamulu police station and report the six hour ordinance in the hands of the officers.

The investigating authority visited the scene and confirmed the same.

It has been established that two officers are from Njathaini police station and they have since been arrested as the probe continues to get the remaining three officers.

The victim also positively identified the salon car that was used in the mission.

By the time of going to the press, Senator Lomenen had not responded to our questions on whether Triza is his wife and why he had sent the officers to recover the money and why he had not reported the case of the missing cash anywhere.
