Wiper Party Claims MP Sponsoring Impeachment Motion is not Their Member, Opposes the Ouster Move

Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Democratic Party has distanced itself from the move by Maendeleo Chap Chap Party MP motion to remove the deputy president of Kenya Rigathi Gachagua from office.

Speaking to journalists on Monday, Nairobi Deputy Majority leader John Ndile alias Kaende said Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse is a member of Maendeleo Chap Chap– associated with Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection Alfred Mutua, which is a constituent party of the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

He says this distinction is important in understanding the political alignments and affiliations in Kenya.

“We would want to reiterate that The Wiper Democratic Movement opposes the proposed impeachment motion against the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Our leader is honourable Kalonzo Musyoka and he is categorical that our members are guided to vote against the impeachment of Mr. Gachagua,” Kaende said.

He wonders when the Kenya Kwanza administration will settle from the ongoing politics and scandals being unravelled through the media.

“Gachagua is a truthful man, he is against the Adani-JKIA deal but that should not warrant his impeachment. No one is perfect, President William Ruto should find a way to resolve their differences but going against the will of the people to remove his deputy from office is uncalled for,” concluded Kaende
