First Lady Rachel Ruto Assures Flood Victims in Thika of Government Support

The First Lady, Mama Rachel Ruto, distributed food and household items to 203 families, totaling 1,131 individuals who have been affected by flooding in Thika West Subcounty, at St. Johns Kilimambogo Teachers Training College.
During the event, Hon. Alice Nganga, the member of Parliament for Thika town, praised the visit to Thika West, pointing out that flooding had affected over 10 villages, resulting in the destruction of livelihoods and homesteads. The initiative has benefited the most affected villages, including Komo, Thika River, Mbagathi, Giciiki , Wendano, and Mukunike villages.
Mama Rachel Ruto assured the flood victims of the Government’s full support, particularly in growing food in support of the Bottom-Up Economic Trasformation Agenda commitment to the nation achieving food security.

Thika Town MP Alice Nganga who was also present welcomed Rachel Ruto’s visit to Thika West, pointing out that flooding had affected over 10 villages, destroying livelihoods and homesteads.

The initiative has benefited the most affected villages, including Komo, Thika River, Mbagathi, Giciiki, Wendano, and Mukunike villages.

Other leaders present were East African Legislative Assembly MP Maina Karobia, Kiambu County Commissioner Duncan Darusi, and members of the Kiambu County Assembly
