Safaricom customers will now buy airtime on M-pesa as low as Sh1 a lower minimum amount from the previous Sh5.
The leading telecommunication has announced that users will now buy airtime for as little as Sh1.
This means M-pesa users can now buy airtime for as little as Sh1.
The new minimum amount is already effected after the Monday announcement by Safaricom.
Safaricom has also informed its users of this change through direct messages.
This comes a few days after it also announced that it would start charging users Sh0.50 for reverse calls.
The fee will apply to people who use the service more than twice a day.

“This service will be free to the initiator of the reverse call for up to two requests in a day. Subsequent reverse call requests made within the day (after the first two requests) will be charged an access fee of Sh0.5 per reverse call request.” Safaricom said.
This charge is designed to prevent misuse of the reverse call service, as Safaricom observed that some users request reverse calls even when they have enough airtime.
Additionally, Safaricom specified that the reverse call service will only be available for calls made within its own network.
