Itumbi Defends CS Mithika Linturi amid the Impeachment Trial
The renowned Kenyan political strategy consultant and digital journalist Dennis Itumbi has boldly defended Agriculture cabinet secretary Mithika Linturi who is facing impeachment over gross misconduct and violation of article 46 of the constitution.
Itumbi says the CS Mithika Linturi who is implicated in the fertilizer saga has for the last one year performed effectively.
He says through the subsidized fertilizer, a record 67 million bags of maize were produced resulting to the drop in Unga prices from 240 to slightly above 100 bob.
“As we speak, twelve million bags of planting and top-dressing fertilizer are being distributed. There is massive investment on post harvest management; 100 high Volume driers, installation of 2 aflatoxin decontamination plants in Bungoma and Nairobi,” Itumbi wrote on his X handle.
Under criminal negligence, Mithika Linturi is facing accusations of allowing the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) to be used by private entities to sell fake fertilizer to the unsuspecting public.
