Interior CS Kithure Kindiki Flags Off 10 APCs to Combat Crime in the Country

Kithure Kindiki, Cabinet Secretary Interior and National Administration has today at the Port of Mombasa flagged off ten Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) that will facilitate frontline officers in combating crime in the country.

Speaking during the event, Kindiki noted that the realisation of durable peace, security and stability requires an accelerated and non-compromising posture on all threats to the national security to ensure rapid economic development driven by local and foreign investment.

“To defeat terror, banditry and other organised violent criminal enterprises that gravely constrain our homeland security, the Government is on a Ksh.37 Billion 5-year Police Equipment Modernisation (PEM) program to equip, protect and minimise the exposure our frontline security personnel in the frontlines of our Country’s security operations, and to inflict maximum pain on dangerous criminals threatening public safety,” Kithure Kindiki said.

He said each new arrival of modern security equipment brings the country a step closer to the actualization of the vision of a safer Kenya where the public is protected from the fear of criminal groups of whatever description.
